Sozo (Σώζω)

Sozo (Σώζω)
This morning in church, my heart was so touched by the Gospel story of the ten lepers. Jesus
healed them all, but only one returned to give thanks. And to him, Jesus said something more:
“Your faith has made you well,” or in the original Greek, “has made you sozo (Σώζω).”
That word, sozo, has been singing in my soul all day. It doesn’t just mean “healed.” It means a
complete restoration to wholeness: salvation, healing, deliverance, and preservation.
It’s a beautiful reminder that while we may say “thank you” for our many blessings, a truly
grateful heart is what opens the door to our own spiritual wholeness. Gratitude is the faith that
makes us sozo. It shakes off the dust of our past sins and sorrows and allows us to stand
whole and restored in God’s loving presence.
Today, my heart is overflowing with a deep and grateful “thank you” for the countless blessings,
seen and unseen, that are leading me on this beautiful journey to wholeness.
With love, peace, and light,
Dawn
